WHAT IS JESMONITE AC300?

As with Jesmonite AC100, AC300 is a two part system containing an acrylic polymer and a mineral resin (a liquid and a powder). They’re mixed together at the same 2.5:1 ratio that Jesmonite AC100 is to create a liquid that resembles the consistency of double cream. This can then be poured into a mould to create your very own cast.

It’s solvent-free and contains no VOCs (volatile organic compounds), which means the air around you is kept clean so you can enjoy the casting process. Jesmonite AC300 cures quickly and is usually ready to remove from the mould in 20-30 minutes and will be fully cured in 24-48 hours.

If you’re planning on retailing your creations, Jesmonite AC300’s fast setting time and lower cost price makes it ideal.

WHAT IS JESMONITE AC300 USED FOR?

Intended for internal use only, Jesmonite AC300 can be used to make a variety of home décor such as decorative trays, small ornaments and coasters. For larger scale projects and pieces that need more strength such as larger vases and sculptures, AC100 would be better suited. You can use Jesmonite’s wide range of pigments to create unique colours that stand out from the crowd and if a metallic finish is more your thing, give the metal fillers a go!

WHAT DOES THE FINISHED PRODUCT FEEL LIKE?

A completed Jesmonite AC300 piece feels much like an AC100 piece. It has a smooth stone-like texture and will gain weight as it sets. It gains its strength early in the curing process, making a well-structured and durable creation that can stand the test of time.

CAN I ADD DECORATION TO MY PIECES?

Absolutely! Experiment with different ways to marble, add terrazzo effects and play around with additives like gold and silver foil to add another dimension to your work. The fun of Jesmonite is in experimentation so get stuck in and don’t be afraid to try different techniques. To get you started, check out our blogs on Jesmonite techniques *here*.

ORDERING & STORAGE

To make your life easier, Jesmonite AC300 Kits are sold in the correct ratio of liquid to powder, meaning you’ll come to the end of both at the same time. Keep your Jesmonite AC300 liquid and base containers well sealed and store them at a constant temperature of between 5 – 25°C. We’d say be sure to use within twelve months, but we’re sure you’ll use it much quicker than that!

Please get in touch for bulk orders of 1 tonne or more.

We could talk about Jesmonite all day, but it’s important to note that the above information is based on a mixture of both our experience and Jesmonite’s official guidelines. We can’t guarantee that every piece you make will be perfect, but that’s the beauty of experimentation. If you have any questions about Jesmonite and its suitability for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
